2025 Skoda Kodiaq 1.5 e-tec petrol - What belt is it?

Featured Replies

Hi,

I'm looking to purchase the brand new 2025 Skoda Kodiaq, 1.5 e-tec mild hybrid petrol and was wondering if this uses a wet belt, dry belt or timing chain? I'm reading conflicting answers online.

Also what is the recommended time/mileage to replace the timing belt/chain on this model?

Thanks,

W

Welcome to the forum.

?

Where are you reading conflicting info from?

There are no Wet Welts used with TSI.s

It is a Dry Cam Belt and it might be 2035 / 150,000 plus miles before the Belt Gets changed.

Life fit belt, the life of the engine, so sadly maybe a failure at 10 years will be terminal.

Ask the Supplying Dealers Service Desk to go check what your Recommended Service & Maintenance, schedule, guidelines or advice are from Skoda / VW.

Ask the Sales person to go get the info, in writing.

If getting one and keeping 5 years or more extend the Warranty before it is First Registered.

Thanks for the quick response. That's good to know they are dry belts.

I was Googling and someone mentioned on reddit and it was one of the Google results, hence why I wasn't sure if it was true or not.
