Race Chip for Octavia MK4.5

Featured Replies

Welcome.

Read the T&C,s of the Warranty in your country.

Likely the same as elsewhere around the world. Non factory approved hardware or software will invalidate the Warranty.

In the case of a Chip / Tuning box that will be on the engine & even the gearbox.

The 1.5 TSI is 147 bhp.

@avi4tor A 1.5 TSI ACT might be,

but the OP is in Singapore and does not post that they have one of those.

Yes, the 115bhp variant is in Singapore.
they had to detune the engine to adhere to government regulations (https://shop.skoda.com.sg/details/octavia-fl).
felt that the power is a little sluggiush. Hence looking at adding the racechip to enhance the driving experience, but worried about the installation process and warranty.

Installation is pretty straightforward. Detaching the VW connectors was the most difficult thing! If it’s anything like the one I have, you do have to drop the engine undertray to get to the correct sensor, so you will need axle stands or ramps to get under the front of the car.

@benwong89 What did your warranty say. Did non factory approved hardware or software get a mention.

If you are prepared to take the chance then just do that and keep your fingers crossed that you have no major engine/ drive train issues.

This is what it says for the UK.

You are not going to be removing it maybe if you require roadside assistance / recovery.

Or the vehicle is in an accident.

Grown up people like adults that have cars should do what they want and if it goes t!ts up pay up and do not expect warranties they void to cover them.

& test drive vehicles before buying them. Just my personal & honest opinion.
