Door Lock Replacement 2014 MK2

Featured Replies

Hi all,

My passenger side front door has been refusing to lock and the kiddy lock I discovered was non functional, so I pulled it all apart to look. Wiring seems ok and the motor in the lock appears to at least move in response to the remote.

I pulled the unit out to have a look and a chunk of plastic fell out so im guessing something inside is bust. I can relock the door by turning the kiddy lock lever back and forth, but it still doesnt lock or unlock on the remote, despite the motor doing something. The inside door handle always opens the door regardless of how the child lock is set.

I am looking at buying a new unit, is it just a straight swap, or is there any programming needed?
