Battery discharging

Featured Replies

Has anyone else had an issue with their Skoda Superb software reporting a low 12v battery? As soon as this fault develops, my car profile keeps loading as ‘guest’ and the door lock/unlock system on approach, stops working. If I trickle charge the battery all the faults go away for a few days, but then return. My car has been into the dealer twice so far for this fault. The 1st time they changed the battery but the 2nd time, although they could see the errors in the cars logs, they reported ‘no fault found’ (they did wash and vac the car). It’s clear something is discharging the battery (I have a dash Cam which I have disconnected) but thought I’d ask if anyone else has experienced this B4 I take car back to garage this week. Thanks

@Ron0511 Is this a 2020 1.4 TSI iV (PHEV) ?

Maybe it is simply battery replacement time?

Maybe something as basic as that would be known to fully trained VW Group technicians though & they have had the car in.

They are the ones that should see these cars quite often and have all the gear and more than just ideas.

Battery was replaced by Skoda on the 1st visit a few weeks ago.

Have similar problem on my MY24 1.5 TSI eTec mhev. Cant tell if it is still happening as car has been in workshop under warrranty for 7 weeks diagnosing problem with seat functions! It was given a new battery when I bought it as it was flat then (apparently... we couldnt get in to do a test drive... a warning sign about going ahead with the purchase that I should have followed). Again, though infotainment reported a problem, diagnositics said no fault.

It would be nice to read a torrent of high praise on Briskoda for these 2024 onwards Superbs to get some reassurance about the brand. Not had problems like this in all of my 40 years of car ownership - skodas for the last 22 years.

My car has been in garage since Wednesday. They had to go to Skoda technical who think they have solved it. It is having a software update and should be ready Monday. Like you I have had great experiences with my previous 2 Superb’s, but this one has not been so good.

Picked up my car this evening. It's had a software update which apparently was a recall for other Skoda models but not for the Superb until last Friday. Dealer agent read me the 'fixes' that the update provided and it seemed to match issues id been having perfectly (except satnav as I use Waze on CarPlay).

Let's wait and see:-)

I wonder if just an 'apparent recall'

or an actual RECALL where keepers will be asked to take vehicles in.

Actually a TPI, a Service Campaign action where only those reporting issues get anything done.

Others with the same vehicles will know if informed of a Recall Action.

Can you tell us any more about what they are?

12v battery low

Spurious dash warning messages

Something regarding SatNav (I don’t use it)

Update def seems to have fixed my problems.

Any mention of it fixing the issue of driver assist systems taking a while to come online in damp, dewy conditions? Or front interior lights sticking on and the touch-sensitive switching becoming non-responsive? Or massage seats stopping functioning with random 'cushions' still inflated?

I have the same issue funnily enough. I always assumed that was just in issue because of the damp. Agent never mentioned it, but I’ll keep an eye out to see if it does fix it (next time it’s damp).
