EPC light / no stored codes

Featured Replies

Looong story short.

Had car 3 months, 2015 1.4tsi. It threw an EPC error and lost power on the way home from dealer, RAC diagnosed a loose tb plug, cleared codes and sent us on our way. We're currently in Spain in the car and it did it again last Friday. Tb plug didn't appear loose but I wobbled connectors, including the pedal and its been fine over many hundreds of miles and dozens of journeys since.

The EPC and Engine warning lights still show when you turn the ignition on but go out when the car is started. I've obtained an ODB reader and to my surprise it's saying there are no stored codes. I'd have though the warning lights indicate the presence of stored codes.

Your thoughts would be much appreciated.

Thanks

Jeremy

If it's a generic OBD reader it might not show manufacturer specific codes...

You need something designed for VAG vehicles like VCDS or OBDeleven.
