Hi my name is Ash and I’m the proud owner of a mk2 Škoda superb (love it)

Best car I’ve ever had and it’s so comfortable to drive.

I’ve got one small issue with the DPF which has lit up and then disappears.

I want to clean it via the o2 sensor but worried I my damage the sensor, so I want to by a new sensor but have no idea which one I need.

Can someone send me a link if possible

Kind regards

Ash

That is not how you clean a diesel particulate filter.

It’s what Halfords was going to do for £85 but thought I could try it myself. What’s the best way? I’m new to DPF’s and have no idea 🤷🏻‍♂️

There is Built In Test Equipment (BITE) for doing this, no need to replace sensors as Halfrauds suggested.

Have you had any error messages about the dpf?

The light coming on and then going sounds like normal regeneration activity. It’s when it comes on and stays on you need to start thinking about forcing a regen. And even that’s easy to do -

Good long clear ish motorway stretch, get over 40mph with revs at 2000-2500rpm for about 15-20mins. And have more than 1/4 tank of fuel..

ECU should take care of it then.

That’s good to know that it’s normal as I was worried it was something serious. Just the light coming on and off is all that it’s done and only once since I’ve owned the car. No errors message or anything. This is the first car I’ve had with a Dpf so very new to it all. Thanks everyone for there help your all amazing 🤩
