Xenon Headlights

Featured Replies

Hi All

Well we are in the middle of an engine change on my beloved 2010 Superb CR170 Estate - Job is going not too bad at the moment

We have noted that the left headlight has 2 broken mounts - Probably the result of an unscheduled skirmish in a previous life - From day one there was an error on the maxidot to say no corner lighting available. So now is a good time to address this issue and replace the headlight unit.

If I fit a replacement unit does it need some form of calibration? and I do see Hella are selling a 1ZS-247-047-11 headlight - This is the same unit or will it cause trouble?

Thanks in Advance

I will be back with the full story on the engine change and what we found along the way 🤨

Don't know about the errors, but these broken mounts were quite common for these headlights. Therefore there is repair kit available, so for those mounts you don't have to buy new headlights.

This one or the PFL https://www.vag247.com/en_US/p/Headlamp-repair-set-kit-Skoda-Superb-II-2008-2013/3581

or this one for the FL model: https://www.vag247.com/en_US/p/Headlight-brackets-repair-set-kit-Skoda-Superb-II-FL-2013-2015/3997

Regarding the error: Cornering lights is a function of the fog lights. Before buying a new head light (on a gamble), I'd check the actual error message (in VCDS or a similar OBD tool).
