Excessive brake dust

Featured Replies

Hi folks, 2024 model, petrol, auto, 3000 miles on the clock. Only had the car for 6 weeks but feel that the wheel rims are constantly covered in brake dust. Only driven 50/60 miles per week, not driven hard by any means, but the dusty wheels really take the shine away from the car. I'm comparing it to my previous 5 series which i had for 5 years, from 1000 miles old. Does anyone else experience this? Hand washed and tyre shine used each time

I’ve noticed the same as well. Not sure if it’s the wheel design, which are much trickier to clean than previous cars. Mk 2 Skoda and VW ID3

Here was me thinking my wheels are a lot more simple than my beemer wheels. I'm more inclined to think that there is more dust generated, maybe products/parts not quite as well made. I do try to limit braking to a minimum by downshifting using the paddle gears, I basically drive like a granny now lol, guess old age doesn't come cheap 🤪
