VRS iV Tyres

Featured Replies

Evening,

I have an 23 plate VRS iV estate that is in need of two front tyres. It's a lease car so I want to make sure I get a suitable replacement. The current tyres are Bridgestone Potenza … (marked S005). Using my number plate Costco currently have Bridgestone 225/40 R19 (93)Y POTENZA XL S001. Any idea what the difference is and if VWFS will care? I can't see any marking about run flats, etc. on the current tyres. Any advice much appreciated!

They won’t care. I’d look at Pilot Sport 5s. Ideally replace all 4 at the same time.

But it depends when your lease is up though? If soon, just get the same S005s. I always like all 4 corners to be the same.

Check the small print of your VWFS paperwork, it will be in there. Different lenders have different specifications.

Some might say ‘same specification’ in which case providing you use the same dimensions, speed rating etc then that should satisfy.

On my Cupra Ateca that went back in April before I got the vRS, I’m pretty sure it said the tyres must be an ‘equivalent premium brand’ but that was financed by Santander.

Regardless of the terms I only use premium tyres anyway personally.
