Water egress & warranty question

Featured Replies

Hello- I have a 2023 superb since January of this year. Just coming up on 58k. Last week noticed a puddle of water in passenger rear footwell, wet in the front passenger footwell also.

Brought car to local skoda dealer where I purchased & was given a temporary car in the meantime while they did a water test. Got a phonecall today that they cant find the source of any leak & need my car for another week to perform another water test.

My question is this- if they cant find a leak and give the car back to me & hope it doesnt happen again (which is what was inferred) where do I stand on that? Cant find anything definitive on the warranty regarding water damage.

Warranty in place until January next year.

Many thanks for any input!

Does your car have a sunroof of any description? In my experience that type of water ingress is usually attributed to a sunroof drain hose being blocked or disconnected.

Or, similarly either the front or rear door seals on the passenger side but I'm sure the skoda mechanics will have thought of that.

Can't help you with your main question though but I would have thought at if you car is letting in water to the extent shown in the picture then its not fit for purpose. Perhaps that is an option you could explore if needed.

Hi- no sunroof on my car. Having looked at this forum & google I could see sunroof was the main cause but not in this instance. Still awaiting a call from dealership as to outcome of 2nd water test so fingers crossed on that!
