2010 Octavia 1.6tdi - P0103 code

Ok. I’m new and I’m flummoxed !!!

My new to me 2010 Occy 1.6tdi is spitting the dummy. It had a flashing glow plug symbol and EML and it’s in limp mode. Hooked up my OBD reader and got 2 x P0103 codes.

Fitted new Continental MAF sensor. No change.

Fitted new Bosch MAP sensor - lost one of the 2 P0103 codes but the other wouldn’t clear.

Removed and completely cleaned the EGR Valve (hell of a job to remove !!!)

No change at all.

So now I’m completely befuddled. What else can it be ? The car has done 142000 miles and seems to have been well maintained but has no history.

What else do I need to look for ???
