Skoda 1, Renault 0!!!

Something made me laugh to day...

Spent my day off with my closest buddy Matthew. His 53 plate Clio was in at the garage being fixed - he's had it 6 months and its starting to jump out of 1st gear, and the garage gave him an 06 new style Clio as a courtesy car, apparently with the same engine as his (100Bhp 1.4).

He called me up when he was on his way round "hey baby, u really have to drive this!" God almighty it was NASTY! It rolled around corners (Alton Towers-esque) and you had to rev its nuts off to get it to go. Surely it must just have been one in a bad shape? It seemed nowt like his little Clio...

Then I had an idea, "Honey - do you fancy comparing it to my Fabia?" Ok, its only a Sport, but you should have seen his face! He loved it to bits, "nice handling, punchy little engine, god this is great fun!" so I sat there and lapped up the compliments lol

Vive le Sport! :D

I had a 99 plate clio, 1.2ltr, it werent that bad actually, quite nippy, but a shi*e gearbox, and it had air con for a 1.2ltr! Imagine how that drained the engine power.........

Thats a picture off me old baby, still going around today, driven by a very fine young lady!

Is your Sport a 16v or a 12v?

As a previous Renault Megane 2 owner, I know what you mean. C.r.a.p car, cheap plastics and legendary unreliability. My wife has a Clio (54 reg) and so far its been pretty reliable BUT its going soon. Will probably look at the new Corsa or Fabia Sport, but the engine in that makes it woefully slow and it sounds like a sewing machine

He's a 1.2 12v called Buzz, the yellow peril lol!

I drove a 1.2 sport Fabia the other day, and I must say I was impressed!

It's the same lump as my boggo Polo, with some extra twiddly bits.

If I was in the market for another cheapie runaround, for less than 9K IMHO it takes a lot of beating.
