Latest software versions & bugs fixed

Skoda don’t seem to have a system for informing owners about software versions and what bug fixes, new features or feature updates each version contains. I’ve not found a way to report software bugs to them without getting their standard response to “take it to the dealer for a diagnostic check”. Software bug diagnosis I think is realistically far beyond a main dealers ability and there should really be a system in place to report software bugs directly to the Skoda software developers.

Given the lack of such systems I was wondering if we owners could post any information on the software versions our cars have currently? Also if you’ve had a software update when your car has been serviced and you’ve noticed any bugs you were experiencing have been fixed by the update? You can find the version number on the “system information “ screen.

Personally I am so infuriated by the dreadfully bugged media system that I’m considering getting rid of the car after just 8 months of ownership. It’s driving me crazy. I’ll probably wait until after the first service/software update to see if there are any bug fixes before dumping it.

In all other aspects it’s a great car, comfortable, powerful and really good fuel economy but Skoda (and I guess VAG in general ) really should be ashamed of the appalling software.
