Replaced coolant tank and lid. Now lid doesn't "click" closed.

Featured Replies

I have just replaced the coolant tank and lid on my 2012 superb elegance. They are Febi Bilstein items and were recommended as good quality. I am concerned that the cap does not click closed when tight as it did on the old tank. It just tightens hand tight and the threads seem fine. I tried the new cap on the old tank and it does click closed so the issue is with the new tank. Is this a problem or is the cap OK hand tightened without clicking? Any help appreciated.

Dont worry. Original cap will hold pressure even its not tightened all the way. My original wont click either.

Thank you, that's good to know. I'll keep a close eye on it for a while.
