Head Unit display failure !!

Featured Replies

Hi All

Have a 2014 H reg Octavia.

Been totally sweet except for a leaky water pump which is now fixe.

Got home from work everything was fine.

Got in the car the next morning to find the Head-Unit display is shot.

Just showing a black screen with white vertical lines...

Can anything be done or do i need to be thinking about a replacement head-unit

That's an awkward situation. It's the Oetker display, not the radio. The radio unit is located in the glove compartment. So either the display or the radio unit would be ideal for testing.

In which case its the display.

The operation is otherwise fully functional.

I'm puzzled by 2014 being H reg?

In the UK a 2014 would be either 14 or 64 reg? Or are you not in the UK?

So that's a 14 reg not an H reg!!!

HJ is the location it was registered - the Bournemouth office.

14 is the 6 month period it was registered March 2014 to August 2014.

VDD is the "random" letters specific to your vehicle.
