Dpf light & Oil Pressure Issue

Featured Replies

The wifes Fabia monte carlo 1.6 cayc threw a dpf light today, she drove it for about 8 miles stuck in traffic on her way to try force a regen and then the light went out and she got the dreaded " Oil Pressure Switch Engine Off".

I'm guessing the two are linked has anyone come across the same or similar issue and any solutions?

The car has now been parked up and is awaiting recovery.

How is the oil level now when checked cold, does it look like maybe diluted with diesel? How many miles has it done, and did it get the Emissions Fix done sometime after started in 2017?

I won't actually be able to get to the car until tomorrow, but I will update then. Its a 2013 with 130,000 odd

Oil level is fine, just done a scan with vcds and got no fault codes.

Video I have just taken of the oil,

Is the oil pressure message still there when car is running. If it has gone off then hopefully either a blip or faulty oil pressure sensor. Seems odd there are no stored codes? Oil from the video looks pretty new and clean.

Just got the car recovered the guy from the AA hooked his scanner up it shows the dpf did do a regen and it's done 0 miles since. The oil shows no sign of dilution, He started it up and there was no oil pressure warning, we still didn't take the risk of driving it.

Wondering if the oil pressure sensor is failing? or perhaps a bad connector. Seems very odd that there are no fault codes plus warning has disapeared. Hopefully just a coincidence or blip.

Its a strange one that has us baffled I'm going to drop the sump between Christmas & new year make sure the pickup isn't blocked, put fresh oil in and new filter & then not sure where to go from there.

Might be worth having a quick look at the filter first... I had something similar with our old Fabia, albeit that didn't have dpf, and having replaced the pressure sensor and various other things it turned out to be a collapsed oil filter insert.

I agree with checking the filter. I think its a cartridge one on yours. There not expensive and I reckon can be changed without draining oil. It could be that its failed or clogged. Wonder if it was actually changed at last oil change or the garage used a cheap one?

I see there is a new issue you have posted about and blue smoke. Easier if the new issue goes beside this one. Did you change the Oil & Filter?

Yeah oil and filter changed, the pump was also checked and found to be working. Garage put it down to sensor issue.
