Hi everyone

I bought my 21 plate octavia vrs 2.0 around march @ 39k miles and now touching 43k miles

I have booked in for service in feb 2026 and they said they would let me know what additional work might be needed in addition to the service

But what else should i consider outside of normal service?

I did enquire about dsg service but person at the dealership said thats for when i hit 80k miles and its too early to do? Should i just do it anyways as its 4 years old / 40k+ miles?

Also enquired about vaq oil change and they said they would let me know if its required.

Again im just assuming dsg + vaq service has not been done, they will check service history and let me know

Most likely new spark plugs? I am hoping to keep this for atleast the next 3 years

I Would rather do extra preventative maintenence now then stretch things to the recommended limit , or i might be overthinking things lol

I am based in london so if i do go ahead with a vaq + dsg service is it better to just get the dealer to do it ir are there any skoda specialist garage in london people can recommend?

The VAQ Service is at 3 years / 30,000 miles or sooner, and some tuners say at 20,000. If getting the DQ381 serviced early or as per Schedule which is crazy at 80,000 miles get the filter changed. Skoda / VW say not required until the 2nd service. Spark plugs at 40,000 miles or sooner. Check the Air Filter annually.

I often find vaq overlooked so will look to get it serviced

As for the dsg, i was shocked when told 80k miles . So hoping that has been done if not will push that through for peace of mind ( oil + filter for dsg)

Spark plugs are prob due now 👍
