Kodiaq iV constant assistance systems malfuncion.

Featured Replies

Good day, everyone.

I’m experiencing an issue that’s really starting to bother me, so I’d like to ask if anyone has faced something similar.

A bit of background:
In December, just before Christmas, I received a new Kodiaq PHEV. From day one, the car started showing various error messages. Because of the holiday period, I couldn’t leave the car at the dealer immediately, so a service visit was scheduled for January 2nd.

At that visit, I was told that the issue is “kind of known”, but that it would not be fixed quickly. The service advisor explained that there are several steps required before an actual repair can be done. As an example, he mentioned that his own new Octavia with the same issue took about 3 months to fix.

Waiting that long was not an option for me, as this is a company car and I use it daily across multiple EU countries. Because I’m currently staying in Italy for an extended period, I decided to visit an authorised Škoda service here.

This is where it got a bit frustrating. The error messages appear and disappear while driving, often lasting only a few seconds. The Italian service told me that:

  • If I arrive without warning lights currently on, I must book an appointment — with the earliest slot being ~3 months away

  • If I arrive with the warning lights active, they can take the car immediately 😅

Unfortunately, photos and videos of the errors were not accepted as proof.

So my questions to the community:

  • Has anyone experienced similar intermittent errors on a new Kodiaq PHEV?

  • What was the root cause, if known?

  • How was it eventually resolved?

  • How long did it take the authorised service to fix it?

Any experience or advice would be greatly appreciated.

Thanks in advance.

Hello. You are not the only one with such errors!
And in Romania there are the same situations! They will be solved in time through a software update
Since it's a hybrid, I want to know if you also experience small sporadic shocks shortly after starting!
Mine also occurs every few days but always shortly after I start and drive off!
Thanks

What is exactly you experiencing? As im not entirelly sure if I understood your question - could you specify a bit more detailed?
As only other thing which I hate about Kodiaq is, that when you put it to P it still rols for like up to half meter. For me it looks like major safety issue, but for now using auto hold, or not putting it in P, but rather shutting engine straight wih button, then problem not appearing with rolling.

I've been reading these comments on PHEV and pure electric models and it seems to me that Skoda perhaps rushed these to market without fully testing the currency of the software and its performance. These sorts of problems are absent in ICE cars.

Actually plenty with Non Electrified Skoda / VW Models have issues. Quite often reported on enthusiasts forums like BRISKODA. Check out Octavia Mk4, Superb Mk4 sections.

Hello guys.
Not sure if the Skoda made a silence update, or it is related to outside temperature, but apparently all the issues disapeared one day, now it started to be like enjoyable car :)
