Tyre pressure warning keeps reoccurring - not due to tyre pressure or faulty wheel sensor

Featured Replies

On my 2019 Kodiaq the front right tyre pressure warning keeps reoccurring. I've checked the pressures and they are all fine and not dropping. When I set the tyre pressures as correct it come back within a few minutes of driving.

I thought the wheel speed sensor had failed so I swapped it with a new one but it's still happening. Since I swapped it I checked using a OBD reader that the sensors are reporting wheel speeds and they all appear to be working fine and reporting similar speeds. I didn't think to check this prior to swapping the sensor so can't confirm if the original sensor was working without swapping it back.

The fault reoccurs really quickly after resetting it so I don't think it would be sufficient time to calculate an actual change in pressure and like I've said they all seem to be fine and not dropping.

The next thing I thought is if the wire is damaged and is causing an intermittent drop-out in signal from the sensor. I had a quick look when I changed the sensor but I will check the wire again but just wondered if anyone had any other suggestions? I didn't check under the rubber boot over the plug, potentially the wire is damaged inside the boot or connector.

Any help or suggestions appreciated.

I think the only related error is C102D00 'Tire Pressure Warning'

There are others for a low battery in a key and an different intermittent issue that I think is unrelated.

Check it with a good VW Diagnostic Tool
