2025 Kodiaq IV remote start and car alarm

Featured Replies

Hi all,

I got a new Skoda Kodiaq SE-L iv at the end of December as a company car, very nice indeed.

I charge it regularly, and during the last couple of cold mornings I have tried to use the pre heater function from the app to warm the car but mostly de ice the windows before I go out.

This is done with the car unplugged on the drive.

I have tried this 10 or so times with the interior monitoring switched on and off but every time without fail about 2 or 3 seconds after I press the "Run Instantly" button, the car alarm goes off and I have to use the key to turn it off.

Not great at 0500 in the small close of 5 houses I live in.

I haven't got to a dealer yet as I dont have the time.

Anyone else out there with a MKII PHEV tried this and not had the alarm going off.

My company just got 5 identical cars, 2 of the lads have not tried it but 3 of us have and all get the same results the alarm goes off.

I will get it to Skoda when I can but it may be a while. Its not the end of the world but it should work.

Thanks for any info you can offer.

Andy.

I have the Skoda Kodiaq IV in Sportsline trim. I use the pre-heat feature frequently (probably 30 times by now), and it has never set the alarm off.

Maybe I'm just lucky, but at least you know its not all cars that do it ;)

I also have a Kodiaq IV since 11.2024 and I’ve been using the pre-heat function on every cold day: the alarm was never triggered.

Thanks for the replies all, looks like a trip to A Skoda dealership is in my future.

Just for the sake of it I have just tried it in the car park im in. With in a couple of seconds of the start immediately button on the app being pressed the alarm starts.

I would check that you have all air vents open and pointed straight into the car. Possibly strong airflow is causing the interior motion detector to be triggered.
