I decided today to finish off removing marring caused by my Meguiars Water Magnet.

I started on bonnet, front wings and front bumper yesterday and finished off today the rest.

Usual wash routine but now with Aqua Gleam intead of Water Magnet.

Then used Menz IP, with yellow SFX pad, as per slow cut method which worked a treat, doing very small areas at a time and using Megs QD to lubricate as per DaveKG's Detailing World thread. Removed using Green Sonus MF

Cloudy yesterday with rain, so all checks were done with flouresent lighting and also my Brinkmans. Near perfect removal of defects with only some deeper scratches left. I tried to tackle these with a 4" yellow sfx pad with IP but couldn't get rid of them completely.

Once all complete, I went on to Blackfire Gloss Enhancing Polish with white SFX pad. Allowed to haze and then removed using Green Sonus MF.

I repeated the above for a second coat of GEP for good measure. At this point the paintwork looked superb from what I could see in the garage.

After reading some Detailing Worls threads on Chemical Guys XXX wax of late, I decided to try what someone recommended i.e. apply one coat on top of another, spit shine without the spit..

I then popped out the CG's XXX paste wax and decided to apply this by PC on a blue sfx finishing pad. I applied it thin and left it for around 15 mins. I then decided to give another coat on top without buffing off the first coat. Waited another 15 mins.

Buffed off using Zymol MF.

This was my mistake as I had put too much wax on and now left with a greasy layer which won't go away after QD and buffing. Here's a pic

I washed it a couple of times and it looks much better although not totally gone. Maybe a few more washes to go.....

Anyhow, today, I decided to put the CG's XXX wax the normal way, by hand and using a Meguiars Gold Class foam pad. Only one layer this time.

Results, I must say are excellent! Used Blackfire Wet Diamond last time round which I liked but didn't compare to my previous Zymol HD Cleanse / Zymol Vintage wax look.

I must say that early impressions are that it look very close to the Zymol look IMO. I cant wait to add some layers to see how it responds. I think I must just prefer the richness of Carnauba wax.

Here are a few finished pics
