For anyone going to france

Featured Replies

Just come back from a little road trip on the Continent. The Peages in Northern France were crawling with Police trying to catch Foreign drivers speeding so take it easy. 160 kph in a 130 equates to 90 Eiro fine, over 160 it goes up considerably. Traps appear to be set a few miles before the toll booth, all the ones we saw consisted of a small blue van tucked ito a lay by with a policeman with a radar gun. There are also a couple of fixed Cameras on the hard shoulder & one on the run into the Eurotunnel in Calais

The French back roads on the other hand were deserted :) :) :)

They also have the right to check the times on your toll tickets, to see how fast you covered the distance.

They love British drivers, as we just pay up. The French tend to get a bit more bolshie about the whole business!

Mais bien sûr ! C'est leur culture pour combattre de retour à l'autorité. Nous les Britanniques l'acceptent !

I've just come back from the Scumball event, we avoided the french toll roads and had a whale of a time, no-one got ticketed for speeding despite 130mph speeds in clapped out old bangers!

Germany was a little different with its forward facing speed cameras, so defaced and removed front number plates all round then!!!

i took my furby to monaco last year, was caught over the limit by a hand held speed gun, going under the tunnel (on gp track of all places lol) but never heard anythin of it.
