2018 Skoda octavia 1.6 diesel Alternator issue.

Hi Guys,

Quick question if I may.

Purchased an Octavia 1.6 diesel recently as a runabout.

I've serviced the car, inc cambelt and waterpump. Goes great but my battery computer says low output from the alternator. I purchased another alternator brand new, it had 2 pins on the lin bus connector, original only had 1.

Same situation, low output.

So, I've ordered a 2nd hand one, it looks OK, not all salty looking, pretty cheap 40 quid and it's a valeo.

Question is, do I need to register this as a new component after fitting the 2nd hand alternator, or am I good to go.
