Black Registration Plates

Featured Replies

Hi I am thinking of putting black number plates on my silver furby and wondered if these are totally legal or am I making a rod for my own back with the law?. Thanks.

Deffo illegal. :)

A chap who looks like Roo on here, and drives a similar car had them on his black octy in Blackpool, but switched to standard plates whilst out and about.

Seen a few cars with these plates on, one of the MR2 lot has been driving around with his on for 3 years and not had any problems, guess it comes down to luck at the end of the day though.

I am tempted myself tbh.

it seems to be a popular thing over here in dublin!!...have seen a good few brand new BMW's with them on!!....i thought they were banned here aswell..

silver and black are the legal plates in guernsey

So he was a handsome chap then:D

they can only be used as show plates legally if the car is from after 1972, but if you forget to take them off afterwards I'm sure her majestys constabulary will take a lenient view if you keep the originals in the boot and replace them sharpish before you get a £30 fine.

Oi!! If that was not true, that would be libel!
