I know this sounds a little strange, but has anyone extended the wires to the aircon control panel at the bottom of the dash? I want to move it elsewhere and had a thought that the signals may change over a distance hence messing it up?!

either in the glovebox as it is usually just set at a temp on auto, or if there is enough room into the space infront of the sunroof controls...

I could do with hiding my controls from the gf so I did not end up with a baking hot car....!! Maybe I should add a tamper/child lock to it!!
