Lowering caps for the Fabia?

Featured Replies

Does anyone make lowering caps for the Fabia? I am looking for an extra 10mm or so at the front.

What are lowering caps?

Ditto!

Looks like they're just spring inserts...

Can't help with the question though (isn't it now lowered 60mm anyway ) :D

Cheers Chris.

Next question. How do they work

I'm guessing (and it really is a guess ) that it is like a collar that sits over the damper and is tightened to compress part of the spring to shorten the overall height the car stands (as the link mentions not needing to cut springs). I stand to be corrected by someone in the know ;)

Nope - they're just shaped to allow the spring to sit 'higher' than normal. Cheap way of lowering a car, although obviously the drop is limited by the space available where the shock meets the wheel arch.

Chris, my car is lowered on springs 50mm at the front and 60mm at the back. I carry heavy gear in the boot, so often the car sits nose-up. Could do another 10mm at the front, I reckon...

why not raise the rear instead of lowering the front more , i thought you had adjustable spring platforms anyway . the only way you can lower the front more is to get different springs or get clamps to clamp up coils on your original springs

The top mount set up wont allow lowering caps.
