New to the group, couple of questions

Featured Replies

Hi, i now have a Kodiac IV hybrid as my company car, 5 weeks old and already 5500 miles, so getting lots of use. Couple of things i have concerns about. The brakes don't seem to be up to the job, i thought it might be because they were new and would bed in, but sometimes i really have to stand on the pedal to get it to stop, i doubt weather they are strong enough to bring any form of anti lock into operation, and secondly, several times now i haven't been able to refuel, the pump nozzle clicks off immediately, constant ‘clicking just fills up the filler neck, with the fuel not going down to the tank, then the next few times it fills with no issues. Anyone else had anything similar ?

Thanks

Do not open the fuel filler flap until you are ready to refuel! Opening the flap, turning the ignition back on, and then refueling is not possible due to a valve inside the tank.

The only objects in the fuel filler pipe are the anti-syphon device and the emissions filter on the breather vent - those are purely passive.

Didn’t think I had done that, but I need fuel today so will test 👍

Following on from nony74 post, today I turned the car off before opening the filler cover and it refuelled ok with no issues, so that may be the solution.

Unless I'm misunderstanding your latest comment, it is very unsafe to attempt to fuel with the engine running! which would mean ignition should always be switched-off before fuelling.

Not engine running 😂 but you are able to open the filler cover as you are driving into the pumps or before you switch off, if there is a powered valve in the filler neck as suggested by nony74 that would explain it.
