Hi all, I'm new here but did get some valuable info a few years ago about water ingress so thought I'd give you all another go. I've managed to snap the metal lever which opens the drivers door (well it is 20 years old so shouldn't really be surprised). Anyway, I've tried ebay, Amazon and whole variety of online breakers without success. If anybody can suggest another possible angle on this It'd be most appreciated.

Do you still have the broken piece?

If so, scrub up the chrome face of each piece with abrasive paper or a file, then use araldite to glue it back together with a steel or aluminium reinforcing plate over the chrome to add strength. Araldite is remarkably strong when left to set properly.

It won't look great but you will then have the time wait until you find a correct replacement. Contacting sellers who are breaking Superb Mk 1's will surely come up with one eventually.
