Pulling 6-speed manual transmission?

Featured Replies

Apparently my search skills aren't up to par on here, I apologize if this has been mentioned before.

I'm in the middle of replacing the pistons on my 1.8 TSI with a 6-speed manual (LHC) transmission.

Somehow, I forgot about the need to remove the screws on the seal behind the flywheel, to be able to remove the upper oil tray cover thingy.

I'm thinking I'll disconnect the transfer box/bevelbox instead of having to remove subframe and so on.

Also, is it really required to disconnect the driveshaft from the box going to the back wheels?

I've already pulled the drive shafts and the right side drive shaft flange.

Does anyone have any experience with this? Or if you have any tips on resources/videos of just this gearbox?

I would really appreciate it! Thanks.
