Remapped Fab vs BMW 330D

Featured Replies

Proof is in the pudding, absolutely dead even. I kopped for one down a slip road onto the motorway.

We were both behind a lorry doing about 30mph which at the time was ridiculous and we both decided to overtake it down onto the motorway.

He was in front and me a few car lengths back and it stayed like that right up to the national speed limit where (obviously) i backed off!

He did slow down and let me pass before shooting off up his junction turn off.

Are they 190bhp d or 200?

if so, it makes sense due to the weight difference.

I'd love the Beemer though if i buy a few more money trees.:)

330d is around 230/240 as standard I thought? I'm guessing he probably wasn't trying 100% - It's hell of an engine that 3.0d.

he wasn't trying, they will beat you every day. sorry but its true :)

I picked this up from the BMW site.......

Acceleration 0-62 mph (sec) 6.7 (6.8)

Acceleration 50-75 mph in 4th (sec) 5.0

Max output (kW/hp/rpm) 170/231/4000

Max torque (Nm/rpm) 500/1750

I remapped fab vrs would put up a good show but those stats would suggest you ain't got a chance of keeping up with it long term..... unless they wanted you to :D

try it agianst a remapped 330D and see what happens :P

It was probably old 330d(184 hp).

tuned 330d by www.antandpete.co.uk (305 hp) keeps up with ferrari 360 and that was the old version, new one got 320 hp.

I think bmw should make m3 diesel :)

Somehow the word 'toast' springs to mind :P

As ftojeTDI points out, it's probably the old one. The new one is blimmin quick standard, and it would leave a standard Furb vRS for dust, remapped one would be left for behind quite comfortably as well but it would keep up a little better in comparison.

Apart from the power itself, the car is just planted on the road better and has far superiour traction - even with a LSD fitted on a straight road you'd have real grief keeping up IMHO :)

(ps not saying it's not fun trying  )

Yep! It obviously was the E46 model which is still knocking around in COUPE/CABRIOLET Form up until September 2006 where the new coupe will be lauched.

There was nothing in it, i wouldn't go near the new model as the power has been put up well over 200bhp.

The one i'm talking about has 205bhp and has a bhp/tonne of 136.37,0-100 = 21.34 & 0-60=7.67 as it weighs 1520kg.

Now compare that with the 1260kg of the Fabia and the "Estimated" output which it is now Remapped to 175bhp giving 141bhp/tonne,0-100=20.5,0-60=7.55. Thats if it is pushing out 175?

Stats found on the performance calculator...

Feel free to have a play about.

They are close on paper!

This would help a few other members as i understand there was a thread about what figures are expected when remapped, well this gives you a good idea.

I try and keep upto date on specs on cars before i meet one on the road.;)

They are few and far between as the usual owners are happy with the current power/torque.

A guy i know has an AMD mapped 330d and its v quick, not been against him in the octy yet but i think he'd probably beat me anyway:O

I would say it was the 205 hp version as not that many 230 hp were sold to company car buyers ( which is about 90% of bmw sales), and the fact you kept up with it.

I believe when remapped they go to 260hp so very quick indeed
