Long standing interior light problem

Featured Replies

Not long after getting my furbie i decided to turn my interior lights on to read something,

thats when the problem arose.

If i have the light switch set to turn on when the doors are open and go off when the door closes, the interior lights stay on all the time.

So for the last six months ive been driving around with the light switch in the off position with no courtesy light when the door opens

Now the nights are drawing in

Its time i tried to sort out the problem

I havent got a clue what the cause of the problem is

HELP

Sounds like one of the door switches is sticking in the "on" position.

Is this a common problem on fabias?

I was passing the dealers this afternoon and called in

And was told to pop in on monday and the bloke from the parts department will have a waggle about with them(The door switches)

like it was a common thing

Spooky! That happened to mine (1.4 8V) a week or so ago, specifically after switching the light on to read a map. I've rarely moved the ceiling light position so presumed that maybe it had gone sticky or whatever.

Would it be a coincidence that a door switch would go at the same time, or does moving the ceiling switch across tighten a cable or something?
