What car to get?

Featured Replies

Well not me but my girlfriend. She wants a new car that is not common place like the one she has. Currently she has a 1.1 Pug 206. But she wants something more fancy but not any bigger as being honest she cant reverse to save her life LOL She doesnt want a car for its performance as she will never use it, she changes into 5th at 40mph in her 206 as the engine makes too much noise if it revs any more :s The problem is all the cars she likes are the sporty models as they look better and have better interiors than the standard ones, so thats what she will buy.

She has narrowed it down and made a list of what she might like. Can anyone give any advise on any of them, which is better, which are gunna fall to bits in a few years etc

Fiesta ST

Clio 197

BMW 1 Series

Diahatsu Copen (this is almost ruled out as its boot just aint big enough)

Ibiza FR

Peugot 207 Gti HDi

Make sure reversing sensors are on the car if she has trouble with that.

What's her budget and why is she looking at performance cars if she isn't going to use it? ;)

Chris

Oh it will have parking sensors, she has so far reversed into 3 cars in her own street!!!

She wants a car she likes the look of, and she seams to have a taste for the sporty looking cars. If they did a 1.5 Dci clio that looked just like the Clio 197 and had the same interior she'd have that but as they dont she would have the 197 one, she'd just drive it like a granny.

Budget would be about £16k

Ford SportKa/StreetKa, Ford Puma, smart Roadster, Micra 160SR, Hyundai Coupe, MG TF, Mini Cooper, new Tigra...a few I'd be considering on that criteria but not wanting to pay out "high" insurance if I wasn't going to need mega-performance... :)

Rob.

The only reliable car on the top list is the Copen - which incedentally is well worth a drive as it will surprise you

Having had a quick spin in one I remember thinking 'If I was gay I'd consider that...'
