how do we bypass windows 2000 logon?

Featured Replies

we had a password on a computer when we had it downstairs but now a friend is having it but we cannot remember the password on it-does anyone know how we can bypass the logon/password stage of turning it on and setting it up?

TIA

Try admin with no password

no dont panic-dear father has remembered the password now!!

A large mallet? Buy a Mac? hehehe

Ok I'll behave. Does hammering F8 to go into Safe Mode work? May just work on WinXP, but if you can get into Safe Mode, as long as the user account isn't the admin one, you should be able to delete the user.

Like I say, I only know it works in XP, and I defected to Mac lol.

Hope it helps!

what special feature does osx employ to prevent people forgetting passwords..?

with OS X its the same as unix/linux if you can get to the box then you own it.

you can reset your password from the install discs on any account unless you have file vault on. If you forget that password then oh dear oh dear its erase and install time
