Peugeot 206

Featured Replies

Had a little spert with one of these the other day. Neck and neck all the way down to the lights I thought to myself what the bleedin hells going on against this French trash. Stopped at the lights and firstly noticed the twin chrome exhaust then I spotted the 180 badge. 206 180 GTi Vrs standard Vrs Furby = me now smilling - Peugeot driver gutted and glaring out of window

Good result... Though road racing is naughty. Tick tick...

~180 should have soundly beaten a stndard vRS - obviously a numb-nut driver...

you do realise you are gonna get caned for this!

 though!

I don't care. Got to let of steam now and again. Love the Furby possibly the best driving car i've had. Vectra 2.6 V6 the most powerful but that ate juice. The Vrs is a super combination.

I found the 180 GTI was disappointly slow considering the power it allegedly had. Give me a 182 Clio any day :D

Definitly, or maybe the new 197, may not go quite aswell as the 182 but it sure looks fantastic. I chose the Fab VRS over the 197...shame they don't do a diesel 197:rofl:

From what I've read though, the Pug would have th eedge on the Fabia over any kind of drive that involved corners.

seen as it weighs less and probably has a better weight distibution and is lower... yes, so obviously.

I had to drive the 180bhp a bit. The 180bhp is okay, just let down by the 206 part. When they bring out a hot 207 it should be better, but the knock off turbo from the BMW colaberation 1.6 may well be a let down.

I hate Peugeots.

who doesnt?

The 197 looks 'girlie' IMO compared to the 182 (with the darker athracite wheels) - they look mean...

Apparently the 197 grip is immense (all relative mind..!) due to the custom made tyres - but at Goodwood it had Conti SportContact 3's. Are these unique?

Trust me, I have more reasons than most.

Unless it hit an insect on the way round and fell apart.

Or the engine didn't blow itself to smithereens.

Other problems:

1) About to run out of fuel (very poor mpg)

2) Having a problem with an oil leak

3) He just got back from wanting to know a part excahnge price and his car is actually worthless

4) He realised he had spent a lot of money on an upmarket citreon

5) He had just had to deal with Peugeot's terrible after servces

Bitter, me? NEVER

Got a mate who's got the 136bhp GTI. He's just spend

To be fair the 180 is a quick car when driven properly which most people don't do. They have to be given some serious stick to perform as well as they can and in such a case they would leave a furby vRS behind comfortably. I had the use of one for a couple of days some months back and had some great fun in it. The problems come when you realise that driving it as hard as you need to in order for it to perform will soon end its life lol.

Coincidently the Wife and I had a look at the 180 GTi before buying the Furby. The salesman asked my wife when she was in the car "what she thought of it". Her reply was "I would refer buy a van"!. We quickly left at that piont.

The 180gti is is geared for 60 only, out of second into third it's geared too long and struggles to keep up with repmobiles. They're good on paper only :thumbdwn:

0-60 pretty good, 0-100 very poor.
