Auto Glym Life Shine

Featured Replies

Ordered my new VRS... waiting for it to arrive and had some bumf from dealer about life shine...

What are your views, do you reckon its good value for money ?? and if you have had it done, how much did you pay ?

Unless it is included free of charge as part of the deal it is probably not worth it.

I cannot comment on the Auto Glym product but have had a similiar product applied on a previous new car, the results and longevity were dissapointing. My view was that after paying

I read somewhere that you have to still apply Autoglym Super Resin Polish and Extra Gloss Protection after treatment!

So it's not lifeshine then....

I personally wouldn't bother unless it's free but as we all know nothing is ever free!

I agree it is another way of getting more money from you I haggled and got AUTOSMART exterior and interior done for free.was valued at £200.00, so keep trying.

I got it, it was free ....... it's pooop :D

You get a very expensive green bag of autoglym products though

A good wax is all you need. Applied every month or so.

Anyway. If you really want these products, they are for sale on e bay for not much, so why be ripped off by your dealer!!

Not worth the money. I put diamondbrite on my car for about 3 weeks before I decided to take it off as I could get better results on my own with a decent sealant (which is all these products like diamondbrite and life shine are) and wax on top. It was very shiny, but also showed up imperfections in the paint too much (and Im convinced that it caused some itself with the cleaner/glaze stages too).

Take a look at detailingworld.co.uk, they'll set you on a path down the right road, but for gods sake make sure you lock your wallet away somewhere you cant get at it before you take a look around on the DW forums!

Thanks... you made my mind up for me !

I've been trying loads of different product combinations on my fabia recently, the best so far for me is:

Wash with poorboys slick & suds or megs nxt wash

Clay with sonus green (it was already cleanish anyway from previous claying) and megs QD as the lube

Polished with the Porter Cable and Menzerna IP and Menzerna Final Polish 2

Blackfire gloss enhance polish (Glaze)

Seal with Chemical Guys factory sealant (I love this stuff - so easy to apply and remove!)

Wax with Chemical Guys DetailingWorld Wet wet wet Wax using the spit shine method with chemical guys extreme synthetic QD spray

unfortunately I dont have any pics (none that really do it justice anyway - only got a camera phone at the moment), but I think it's a pretty good combination for the colour on the fabia. the WWW Wax isn't that durable though so needs regular topups. Chemical; Guys 50/50 wax or XXX Hardcore wax or harley wax are more durable... :)
