Engine giving a shake when turned off

Featured Replies

Hi guys, I'm having a problem on my Felicia 1.9D When I turn of the engine it is giving a strong shake (vibration) like is about to jump out of place. Almost the entire car shakes when I;m turning off the engine for a second or two. I was suggested that one of the suports that holds the engine is somehow lose or broken (perhaps the welding is broken) but I'm not sure about that. What do you guys think it may be??? THANKS ..

i am no expert, but it sounds likely that the engine mountings are loose or damaged, best have a mechanic look at it to confirm mate :D

Q

it might be becuase the engine is trying to run-on after it has been turned off, i would check the fuel cut off solenoid on the injection pump.

If it doesn't shake when you start it up as well it's probably not mounts. I'd agree with TeflonTom.

Check the gearbox pendulum mount under the car.

At start it shakes a little but NOT as much as when I shut it off. Also during operation it doesn't shake at all.

Check the gearbox pendulum mount under the car.

Agreed, they split and go all soft.
