f.y.i.

i just bought some halfrauds glass cutter seems to have done the trick

SWMBO recommended using a vinegar-soaked cloth ... I tried & it worked a treat on mine.

Makes the fingers a bit smelly though :D

crunch up a couple of sheets of newspaper into a ball

and wipe the screen with that ..... also good for

cleaning the edge of the wiper blades:thumbup:

Well I had the same problem and decided to do the aero 'upgrade' for £70 and I can't recommend them enough, there 10x better than the standard setup. £70 might sound a little steep but living in Wales and with winter around the corner they have already been money well spent!

Oh and they look a millions times better!

I would say vinigar, or if you want it really clean the autoglym (non spray) glass cleaner.

I did the Aero upgrade (arms and all) to my Octy Mk I and i really can not recommend it enough. They are many times better than the old type.

I used Homebase value glass cleaner (to degrease the screen) and then treated all the windows and mirrors with Ombrello :D 1 year and 25k miles later and it is still working brilliantly and saving me wear and tear on my wipers ;)

did you use genuine parts or ebay ringers

I used genuine parts ordered from VAGPARTS.

They are truely stunning esp in the heavy rain.

i ordered parts from my mate at audi sorted

thanks for your input

Before you fit them I would suggest giving the car a good wash and then cleaning the front screen with some glass cutting paste (eg autoglym stuff or similar).

This means that none of the old gunk left around by the old wipers should make it onto the surface of the new ones :)

I had bad smearing with only 8000 miles on the clock with my Octy II. Cleaning the screen and blades could not improve it. Bought a pair of Aerotwin Bosch wipers for
