Flash tuning Safe ?

Featured Replies

Hello everyone,

I wonder if you heard about flash tuning (not chip tuning). It's a procedure to increase the horsepower without affecting the engine. Actually it's a reprogramming of the computer's car and I don't know if it's safe.

Can you help me with more info about this procedure ?

It's the most common type of tuing now days, normally carried out by connection to the OBD port of your car and yes perfectly safe if carried out by a professional.

Commonly termed as re-mapping in the UK.

yes perfectly safe if carried out by a Emily.

So, I need more info, where can I do the re-mapping and if my car is in warranty, do I lose it ?

I would search for 'experts' in your locality. Some will do it by post.

You will lose the warranty on any parts which may have been afected by the remap. Engine and Drivetrain really.

I used Swedish "BSR" with my Audi A4 1.8TQ and the difference in performance was night and day, they also have an kit to the new 2.0TFSI, but i am alittle worried about the warranty if i do this, anyway here is the link

I also have to say that some parts in the girbox and some parts in the quattrosystem was damaged after som while, but i am not sure if it was becuase of the extra power as i drive very carefully, but thanks god i had this on the warranty, the dealer thought it was bad quality on the parts

Emily can reflash her ecu all time now.
