Changed radio back, no door LED

Featured Replies

Hi there, I have a 2002 Fabia MPI, and car electrics arent my strong point :o

Recently, I had cause to return back to the original car stereo that was supplied in the car, as my own MP3 Kenwood is undergoing repair/insertion into skip/ delete as appropriate. :thumbdwn:

Since I put it back in, the door LED for the alarm is not coming on, and I'm not sure that the central locking is working correctly, as I dont hear a second "clunk" when I turn the key. I tried all the doors, and its seems to be locking ok.

What would be the cause of this? I checked with the likely fuses, but they seem ok.

I hope you can sort me out. :)

I imagine you swapped the permanent and switched live connections when you put the kenwood but did you switch them back when you put the original radio back in? Switching/not switching these over seems to have various undesired effects with coutesy lighting and central locking etc.

Hi thanks for getting back to me....

It is possible that this has happened, as a mate put the Kenwood in for me before, but I didnt do it when I put the original back in myself.

So I can do this myself, what wires exactly am I to look for here? My mate is abroad, so I cant call on him to do this.

Many thanks!

It depends on if the cars wiring loom was altered, or a wiring adapter used. Either remove the adapter or look at the wiring going to the stereo, has a terminal block or bullet connection been put in. There are not any as standard.
