Pre out cable for Fabia vRS symphony CD Player

Featured Replies

If you are in the need for an external amp be it to power a sub or your speakers then you can keep your oem headunit and simply buy a cable that give you front and rear pre outs and also a switched power cable to be used to turn on an external amp. This saves money on having to buy an aftermarket headunit from the likes of sony, alpine, kenwood etc and keeps that oem look.

The cable is in fact a Blaupunkt part but it plugs straight into the back of the oem head unit. I've attached a link here http://www.bluespot.co.uk/stock/preamp.asp

I've being using the above cable since I bought my car back in 2004 with no problem. At first I was using it to power 2 amps (one for front comps the other for a sub)

By going by the Gain I've used on 2 amps now at a guess I would say the pre outs are rated at around 4v.

thanks for that info mate i have been looking for something like this as i dont want to ditch my 6 disk changer

just wondering how does it wire up and also will it work on my 06 fabia vrs

cheers aaron

You can make your own as well -

2. Line Out, Right Rear

3. Ground (GND)

4. Line Out

This shows the entire plug in all it's tri-colour glory (taken from Stu's site)

You can mix and match the three different sections - I'm currently only using the blue part for my Denison Ice>Link so the yellow would click in nicely on the other side of the socket.

sorry bout that i thought maybe there could compatability issues with the 6 cd changer or they may have changed the symphony model since then lol

And the three plugs come on the end of an OEM changer cable.

Hi all, I'm in a similar situation with my mk1 Octavia using a Symphony headunit. My stereo already has all 3 coloured blocks going into the 20 pin block. So where are the wires from the yellow section going to at the moment? I assumed the standard audio outputs were contained in the black and brown 8 pin connectors?

Can I use the yellow plug on the changer cable end to connect the amp to? This would save running wiring right the way through the car.
