first off hi lol im new to the skoda convention and arent sure whether the model i have stated is correct however i have a 98 rplate felicia estate and was wondering if there were any estate specific mods i can do to improve suspension i am currently lookin for 15" wheels and would like to lower it around 40-50mm and secondly i have heard that 120bhp is easily possible with this engine and i would like to aim for that any help u can gice me would be greatly appreciated pictures will be up on the second of the month of it in its standard quite shabby bodywork condition all is soon to be well though lol sorry for so many questions gaz

the single most cost effective thing you can do to a felicia to improve the handling is to fit a 22mm front anti roll bar! some of them dont even a anti roll bar at all. do a search for it using the forum search function....they can be bought for about 50 odd quid from the dealer. other than that there's not a lot of other suspension parts avaialble for a felicia except stiffer springs from all the usuall manufacturers

and as for your engine question. it is possible to squeeze 120hp from the 1.3 engine but it would cost a fortune. you would certainly need independant throttle bodies to achieve this sort of power output, and definately an insane camshaft...

to be honest if i were to do this i would start with the 1.6 engine/gearbox and go from there. for an experienced motor fitter it's a fairly easy task to swap the engines over providing you bring the mounts(particularly the right hand engine mount) you will also need the ecu and the wiring loom and the ignition coil/amplifier and a few of the hoses. and it's a dead easy job. which can be done easilynside 5 hours. and the 1.6 vw engine has far more tuning parts available for it.

thanks for the info ive now fitted an induction kit and the responsiveness of the engine is incredible for such a small car as for the rol bar it has a small one however i shall follow your advice with the info about springs have found a 35mm drop so i think that and new wheels now then go for the kit lol thanks
