A question or couple !!

Featured Replies

Am I right is saying ALL elegance models of the old style octavia are 110bhp 1.9TDi engines ??

If not, how would I be able to tell what the BHP would be of one, if look at it?? Is there an engine stamp or code and where would I find it?? to identify the 90bhp from the 110bhp ??

Any feedback will be greatly appreciated :D

Q

Thank you good sir, I did say I was dense.... lol And thank you very much :D

Q

Elegance TDI's came in 110 or 130.

They were all 110 until the 53 plates (or possibly v v late 03 plate but i don't think so).

The 130 is the 1.9 PD engine and gains a 6 speed box, the 110 is the TDI engine and has a 5 speed box.

130 red DI, 110 red I

90 never made it into elegance as far as I am aware.

Correct , though they were advertising the PD130 elegance at the time I bought my 03 110tdi ,so there may be some on an 03 plate.

Easiest way to tell the difference is the 6 speed gearbox as the badges on the back can easily be changed

Who'd do a thing like that?

I dunno but sometimes i think the more powerful cars are just crying out for an SDI badge ;)

thanks, i have a 02 in sight at

An 2002 will definately be a 110TDI if it is elegance trim

The big give away for elegance trim over ambientie (and hence the 90) are sunroof and climate control vs just air con and 16" alloy wheels IMHO.

Could i suggest that if you take it for a test drive once you have warmed it up you boot it and make sure you get a high boost on the turbo. The things can have a habit of sticking which isn't neccesarily cheap to repair.

If you don't find a car you like i'm probably going to have a late 03 TDI Eleg to sell in the next motnh or so, but I'll be buying freedom and putting it in the for sale section.
