passengerside vibrations

Featured Replies

help required please. can any one tell me where and how to fix a noise i am getting from some where inside the car from i believe the front passenger side area. it may be from the front corner of the door trim or from the passenger side footwell or dash board area. any one who has had this noise before and fixed it please tell me how. the noise itself is like a metalic vibration noise which comes about on uneven road services and small bumps. this noise is driving me mad. apperently my car is not covered under warrenty for this according to the dealer so i need to fix it myself. yes i could just turn the stereo on but why should i when i had a rover for 10 years and never had a rattle from it !!

i think the rattle/ vibration noise is from the lefthand dash area but am not sure .

any help appreciated:thumbup:

glovebox lid rattles , dash securing bolts behind dash side trims can come loose , i'd get someone to drive the car whilst you sit in the passenger seat to see if you can identify where the noise is from , it might actually be being transmitted from outside the car

Would agree with Ric there... the glovebox lid can rattle from the latching mechanism inside. Relatively easy fix though... remove lid, take apart, attach something to the inside of the lid to stop the plastic rods rattling against it (self adhesive velcro strips works the soft fabric bit that is, not the hook bit) and reassemble. You can also add extra self adhesive rubber stops (small black ones available from B&Q work) to the edges of the glovebox itself to stop the lid rattling against it.
