Parrot Ck3100 Muting Radio

Featured Replies

I started having a problem today where the Parrot was consistently muting the radio then radio would come back on, then mute again. I looked at the phone each time and the phone lock etc was on (which normally causes it to mute when it

My Motorola one does the same, bee n told it could be picking up and muting from other bluetooth devices? Mine does this randomly now and again, and has done for past year!

Can you lock it down so it will only mute to paired devices and only pair to your phone?

I must have a look to see if theres an option for that, its never been an issue since I got it in March. Seems like a sensible reason but it was happening around a few miles (unless someone was following me). It was okay on the way to work today, althought its less than a 10mile spin :D

Could be the thing trying to pair with any bluetooth device, they are getting more common now, so who knows.

Hope you get it sorted though :)

I can't see any feature on the kit that would stop it picking up other phones. I tried loading up 4.15 rev to the parrot but it's still the same. To be honest its as if the unit is faulty as it's really bad now at times, its as if its shorting off something it's that bad.

I really don't think its an issue with picking up other phones as it never happened before (only started Monday or Tuesday).

Btw I see one or two others noticing it, Parrot English Forum / CK3100 intermittent radio interuption.

no probs here mate. the parrot cant actively pair to more than 1 phone at a time. It picks up the first phone it can find from the paired phone list in the menu so theres no chance its another phone causing it to mute. I'd say its a faulty kit. Sorry. Why not try with another identical phone.

Would I be right in saying that there is a postive feed from the sterio that when grounded gives the Mute on the headunit ?

Bearing this in mind, if the problem were wiring from the control module to the Radio shorting and causing the muting, that with the power to the kit turned off and it not happening that it would signify that the problem is more than likely internal in the control module.

Effectively yes but if there is a bad connection and the connection to the head unit is allowed to 'float' ie left unconnected , it may be affected by sporatic interference causing it mute anyway.

So with the power to the kit turned off and it not happening would it signify that the problem is more than likely internal in the control module rather than the cabling to it ? or would the +ve mute feed from the sterio be turned off when the Parrot is disconnected.

Yes to your first question and No to the 2nd.

Yes to your first question and No to the 2nd.

 I didn't want to go ripping out the cabling if I figured it was the unit. Mobilefun have said they'd replace it IF faulty, but from their website they won't replace something over 28days. It would be interesting to hear from Parrot regarding it.

Thanks guys for the help
