Is there any other way to drain the water from the fuel filter in the Octavia 1.9 diesel, other then taking the unit out and turning it upside down?

Not sure about the octy, but usually there is a nipple on the bottom of the filter which you put a bit of pipe onto and then slacken with a bolt and do back up again.

If you end up taking it all off, you may as well put a new filter on there anyway as they are not exactly expensive.
