Found the problem to my clicky clutch

Featured Replies

Hiya guys, long time no see. Anyway, got Skoda to look at the problem to my clicking clutch and they said that the clutch switch has gone. Its not a big problem apparantly but im definatly getting it done. The service manager wasnt too keen to get it done though.

The other problem was the knocking noise down by the passanger side, but they couldnt find the problem to this. But, they think that it could be the gear box or something and said they was going to pack it with grease (dont like the sound of that) its only 6 months old. Why would it need to be re-greased after 6 months.

Would like to know if they are fobbing me off with an excuse to say they've tried to sort it out or has anyone else had this problem?

The fix they are mentioning for the knocking noise sounds like the greasing of the gearbox to console joint. A few members have had this done (including me) and it seems to work.

I don't understand why the service manager has a problem, he or in fact the dealer are not paying for it. Unless dealers have a target to meet on warranty claims (ie to reduce the number)??

Just had mine in for a lot of clicking, vibration and rattling in the transmission.

It turns out the flywheel has gone

Warranty covered, it goes in on monday and if it has damaged the clutch that will be replaced too. Capitol have been great about it (Which is why I keep going back there!)

After nearly a week, I returned from holiday to find the dealer has replaced the flywheel and clutch!

Interestingly it is a completely different car to to drive now, the clutch is as light as a feather and really precise so I suspect the drivetrain wasn't top notch from the start.

dont know about the knocking noise, but i also had the clutch micro switch

replaced when the car was about two months old - the clicking everytime you depressed the clutch was really annoying. the switch itself is at the top of the pedal and no bother to change, dont know why your dealer would have a problem.
