312mm FITMENT PROBLEM!!

Featured Replies

Yesterday I fitted my 312's using the guide that can be found on this site, brakes / calipers discs on no problem. Where I have come seriously unstuck which makes me wish that I had taken the more costly route of paying a mechanic for the peace of mind, which is what I normally do:confused:

When I went to connect the brake hoses from the standard ones to the new calipers there was no way they were going to reach and the end of them doesnt connect as the original ones do in some kind of lug, so I though I would go to plan B and use the longer ones supplied with the brakes (off a TT) problem with this is you cant route them through the normal position ie clipped in place and now Im having to guess which is the best way to send them round suspension etc.??

I think I must have done something wrong as there was no mention of the fluid line being rerouted to another position - but I cant see what Ive done wrong?

Any help / suggestions - might have to take the car to a skoda garage monday!:(

The fittings on the caliper end are exactly the same and the lines do reach. The TT lines will fit in the same manner however you may need to rotate the body end or file off the lug so it will clip into the body.

When you mention rotate the body end, do you mean turn the caliper around??

I think I will have to file the lug off as it seems to get in the way - I just couldnt get either hoses to fit the normal routing way.

Hopefully being a new day I might be able to see differently now, back to the car to have a look - Thanks

No I dont mean turn the caliper around, all you have to do is turn the inboard end around on the pipe.

The locating part of the TT hose is 180' different to that of the fabia so you need to gently introduce a twist into the hose when fitting.
