some advise needed!

hi all

just looked at my service book and last service was 27/10/05 @ 40441 miles

car is currently on 48000 miles and it states in my service book next service due at 50k miles or 27/10/06.

so should i go and have an anual service now and 50k one as the clock gets there or should i just wait till it hits 50k and have the service done then

car under warranty till 04/07

plus do i have to have it serviced at skoda as my cousin owns his own garage and have always had it done there, he is vat registered if that makes any dif? `

Do it when either the car hits 50k or the 27/10 arrives, whichever is sooner. You don't need to get it serviced at Skoda, so long as your mate is VAT registered, follows Skoda's recommended schedule and uses genuine (or better!) parts....

I'm assuming he has access to VAG-COM or similar to check for fault codes? :D

no vag com to be fair, but then again i wont pay ridiculous price either! and i will know that the work has been done and that they have not just charged me for it and drank coffee for 2 hours plus, and given it me back as it was lol

As Chris says get the service done at 50k or on 27/10 whichever comes first. You then won't need another service until for another 10k/12months.

VAGcom isn't required for carrying out the service so that shouldn't be a problem.
