Featured Replies

Hi guys ...

i just bought a Vehicale Performance Computer, for testing car performance

0-60 mile

0-60 feet

0-1000 feet

1/8 mile

1/4 mile

average and peak HP

top speed at 1/4 mile

so i need some information

to setup the VPC

first my car is 1.8T 4A octavia ... i have 7.5X16 rims fitting a 225/50/16 tyers

H&R sport springs

and the rest is normal

what i need is

1-the frontal area

2-roll characteristics (the specific way car lean during cornering , 3 degree / G is the typical setting for most cars)

3-Pitch characteristics (the way the car tilt back during acceleration, 2 D / G typical for most cars)

4-Car wight i think 3140 pounds

5-rolling resistance 0.013 is the proper choice the manul says

6-@ which speed car shift to the second ratio @ max RPM

7-@ which speed car shift to the third ratio @ max RPM

Thanks

forgot one more thing .... when is the best time to do the test

immediatly after starting the car and its cold ....

or after the engine temp indecator just reach the middle

or after the turbo is HOT ....

Let the engine warm up.... coolant at least.

Standing idling forever will heatsoak the manifold... so avoid that.

Dry weather helps of course :P

Best not to get the turbo hot before trying for good times tho..

I think you don't need to get the calculated values for HP and tourqe correct, use the tool to meassure relative improvements from your changes to your car.

So use the default values for everything!
