Pela Pump Oil Extractor/Fabia Dipstick Tube

Featured Replies

Recently found a thread (Can't locate it at the mo.) that mentions the use of a Pela pump to suck out the oil from the sump. Just borrowed a friend's pela pump (model 6000 i think its the 6 litre one) to see if its worth getting. Hower the black tube only goes down so much - in fact not far at all in the dipstick tube , so just wondered if anyone who uses a Pela pump what model of pump they use, although looking at the Pela website they are of the same diameter, or maybe the Fabia's dipstick tube is too narrow :(

Hello

I know its no use to you but the black tube on my pela does go down to the bottom of the sump my model is the PL-6000 PELA 6000 Oil Extractor

Sorry I cant me more of a help than this

Hello Tony

Yes thats the same model, how hard do you have to push the tube down, my Fabia is 1.2 12v version - I cant see why the size of the dipstick tube should be different between engine sizes ?

Hi again

There may come a tech along here soon, but my car is the Vrs model so assuming you are doing everything correctly there might be a difference in the oil dipstick etc, though I find this hard to believe

I use a Pela PL-6000 also with no problems on both Fabia & Golf 1.9 Tdi diesels.

I tend to "feel" for the bottom of the sump by moving the pipe up or down in the dipstick tube before starting to pump out the oil but to be honest I've had no problems at all and it's definitely the easiest way to do oil changes ! :D
